Occasionally, a parent could arrive late due to unexpected traffic or other compelling reason. Whenever possible, parents are asked to call the school as soon as it is evident that they will be late. Students without parents or designated individuals waiting for them are told to remain on the school step at dismissal time, and they will be brought back into the building shortly afterwards. When students are waiting for ten minutes past dismissal time, the school will make every effort to call parents, and students are placed in our After Care service at an hourly fee. In the event that parents cannot be reached by phone, a message will be left on the
The gym uniform can be worn on Mass days if a class is scheduled for gym on this day. The only exception to this is for students who will be up at the altar for readings, etc. These students should wear the regular school uniform and then change after Mass if gym is scheduled on the Mass day.
Unless a student brings a note from home or calls the school office, all students signed up for a club will be required to stay for the club meeting. There are no exceptions! Students may not phone home to determine if parents have remembered the club meeting. All club meetings are posted on the monthly school calendars. If a club meeting is not listed on any particular day, the club will not meet on that day. If a teacher makes a change to the posted club dates, parents will be notified either by a written notice sent home with the student or a phone call from the school. Students who wait more than 10 minutes after the club has been dismissed will be placed in After Care at an hourly rate. Parents are asked to note that students remaining after school for clubs are NOT permitted to leave the school building (see parent/student handbook). This is to ensure the safety of students. Students registered for clubs will be expected to stay for all club meetings (except for absences or parent notes sent in during the school day). Students cannot vary attendance by choosing to stay or return home at the end of the school day. Attendance, as much as possible, needs to remain constant.
All summer math and reading assignments must be submitted no later than Friday, September 5, 2014. After this date students will receive a grade of zero. No exceptions will be made. It is suggested that students hand in assignments prior to this date in the event of unscheduled absence due to illness or other reason on September 6.
At 12:10 students will be sent to the After Care Program at an hourly rate. Parents should remember to pick up students from the rear (cafeteria) door. Parents are reminded to check monthly calendars for 12:00 dismissal days and call the school if After Care Services are anticipated on those days.
A child without a lunch will be offered a cold lunch of peanut butter/jelly or cheese sandwich, sides and drink. Parents will receive a payment notice. Remember that hot lunch orders must be received the last day of school prior to the week serviced.
Among other things, glass containers and carbonated beverages should not be sent to school. Gum is never permitted on school grounds.
Parents are asked not to drop off students' lunches after students arrive for the day other than occasional emergencies.
